Pakistan Progress free essay sample

The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little. † Franklin D. Roosevelt According to my opinion definition of progress is to make progress, to move forward in space, to continue onward in course, to proceed, to advance, to go on, as railroads are progressing. To make improvement, to advance. To make progress, to pass through. Or in simple words To move forward or to develop to a higher, better or more advanced stage. A progressive nation can be any nation whose dominant political ideas strike observers as advancing humankind. The term progressive nation has no fixed meaning but changes relative to historical context and viewpoint. â€Å"Progress means getting nearer to the place you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turning, then to go forward does not get you any nearer. Lewis, Mere Christianity There are many nations in the world who progressed alot in almost every field. Pakistan is progressing day by day but very slowly. According to my point of view Pakistan is progressing but it has to cover many more stages of progress to compete with other progressive nations. â€Å"Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. † Winston Churchill Here are some examples of some nations that made marvellous progress in different fields. If Russia is to be a great power, it will be, not because of its nuclear potential, faith in God or the president, or Western investment, but thanks to the labor of the nation, faith in knowledge and science and the maintenance and development of scientific potential and education. Zhores Ivanovich Alferov RUSSIA, In the 19th and 20th centuries the country produced a large number of notable scientist, making important contributions into physics, astronomy, mathematics, computing, biology, chemistry, geography and geology. Enshrined in the Declaration of the Rights of Man of 1789, the ideals of Revolutionary France impressed many contemporaries as progressive, notes the book Voices of the French Revolution by Richard Cobb and Colin Jones. Many people once hailed Nazi Germany as progressive. Purporting to advance the Aryan race, Nazi Germany inspired multitudes nurtured on racist ideas, according to the book Hitlers Willing Executioners by Daniel Goldhagen. Pakistan has started to do progress when it came into existence. Now-a-days many young people in Pakistan who manage to complete their education still don’t have practical, marketable skills. Less than 1% of the population has any technical education or vocational training. The Sindh Skills Development Project aims to train 50,000 unemployed youth in Pakistans Sindh Province by offering them short technical courses to prepare them for a range of jobs. â€Å"Every company has an IT department now, so there are many, many jobs for us when we’ve completed this program,† says one student. The education system in Pakistan is generally divided into five levels: primary (grades one through five); middle (grades six through eight); high (grades nine and ten, leading to the Secondary School Certificate or SSC); intermediate (grades eleven and twelve, leading to a Higher Secondary Certificate or HSC); and university programs leading to undergraduate and graduate degrees. Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education. The human mind is our fundamental resource. John F . Kennedy As of 2012, nuclear power in Pakistan is provided by 3 licensed-commercial nuclear power plants. Pakistan is the first Muslim country in the world to construct and operate civil nuclear power plants. The PAEC, the scientific and nuclear governmental agency, is solely responsible for operating these power plants. As of 2012, the electricity generated by commercial nuclear power plants constitutes roughly 3. 6% of electricity generated in Pakistan, compared to 62% from fossil fuel, 33% from hydroelectric power and 0. 3% from Coal electricity Pakistan is one of the four nuclear armed states. If atomic bombs are to be added as new weapons to the arsenals of a warring world, or to the arsenals of nations preparing for war, then the time will come when mankind will curse the names of Los Alamos and Hiroshima. The people must unite, or they will perish. J. Robert Oppenheimer Industry is such a place where the enterpreneur and labour through the machines and tools convert the shape of capital raw material and natural resources in such way that their utility may increase to fulfill the needs of the people to a large extent and may fetch maximum price in the market. Pakistan make surgical instruments in these industries which it exports to other countries and learn a handsome amount. Science knows no country because knowledge belongs to humanity, and is the torch which illuminates the world. Science is the highest personification of the nation because that nation will remain the first which carries the furthest the works of thought and intelligence. Lousis Pasteur Pakistan is an emerging ground of talented people with artistic skills. In past few years, singers and bands have made a pretty good impression of Pakistani music internationally, especially in India and Middle Eastern countries. We have many big names on our side that have devoted their lives for this industry. However, new pop/rock bands seem to have abandoned the roots of Pakistani music. Two famous singers and actors are Atif Aslam and Ali Zafar who made good name of Pakistan in the world through their music and acting skills. It seems that the rumors of Atif Aslam getting engaged have had no affect on his fan following as he is the only Pakistani celebrity to have the largest fan base of 3,308,902 on Facebook amongst the Pakistani celebrity community. Ali Zafar – who in Pakistan is known for his good looks in addition to his melodious voice that made him one of the most renowned musicians and upcoming actors in South Asia. He is a Pakistani Sensation who rose to massive fame with his smashing single â€Å"Channo† in year 2003. In any country, the first step in the automation is to build the hardware infrastructure and provision of cheaper modern computer machine is the first pillar and step of this project. In Pakistan, there is no shortage of talent and the will of the people of to learn and compete in the market. Pakistan churnsout 13,000 graduates per annum. Only 25% of them hardly get any job. The basic reason why there is so much less jobs and there is so much dearth of quaility of the professional is that the graduates and students cannot afford computers and they don’t have hands-on experience. Government should take drastic and revolutionary steps on war-footings to resurrect and save the computer industry in Pakistan. Pakistan needs to provide bail-out package to the computer hardware vendors, software applications providers and should immediately lift the GST. Pakistan should also provide funds and resources and conducive environment to the IT investors and businesses. Pakistani Government has go to take steps for the computer industry in Pakistan. Now-a-days it is very important for every individual. Computers are very expensive that a poor person cannot afford it so the government people must provide poor people with it so they can also learn the computer and do study and get jobs so they can serve their nation and earn the livelihood for themselves and for there family. Pakistan has progressed alot but alot more is left to make this nation a better place to live in. As Pakistan is developed but it is still under develop. Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education. The human mind is our fundamental resource. John F . Kennedy
